Phineas – 5 months

Doesn’t he know he’s my eighth baby and supposed to grow a little more slowly so I can savor it? All he thinks about is getting caught up to his siblings. And he is doing a stellar job. He’s almost sitting (can stay upright ‘tripod style’ for several minutes before he folds in half, haha). He rolls pretty much anywhere he wants to go and it’s no longer safe to leave him on the bed unattended because he scoots hither and thither. (He even wakes up in the middle of the night to practice his moves.) He chews on everything he can get his hands on. He can switch hands from one to the other when holding an object (though I’m pretty sure it’s not on purpose yet). And most amazing of all he is up on his hands and knees, rocking so hard he actually propels himself forward after a few back & forths. Crawling is way too close in his future, I fear. He’s squeezing into someย 6-9 month clothing but is more comfortable in 12 months size.ย His weight gaining suffered a minor setback during the month long illness we all had (probably due to my lack of appetite, as much as his being ill) but he’s about 17.5 lbs now, still more than a few of my children were at age 1.

Aw he is such a cutie!! Do you happen to have a spreadsheet to remember your babies’ weight as they grow? ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. Sarah says:

    No, that does not compute.

Are you even 40 yet? Seriously. We’re not this old.
