The other day Christina (5) came up to me and handed me an illustrated recipe she wrote.
“Mom, I know how to make pie. It’s easy.”
Since then she’s been bugging me to let her make a pie. I mean, she just proved she knew how. She has the recipe. What more could she need?
I explained that she left out the part about cleaning up all the mess it makes. Oh, that was no problem, she said.
So, of course I let her make a pie.
And yes, with help from her sisters, the mess was cleaned up.

Oh Sarah, I love your kids 🙂 and you too!! Awesomsauce!! I bet that pie was good… I actually went through the same thing with my three, they loved to cook and make up recipes. They still do at 18, 22 and 25, although they are still getting there on clean up 😉 Keep on letting them cook, it is a wonderful thing to encourage.
