Garden update

We have been harvesting different kinds of squash from our volunteer plants! The leaves and vines are starting to wilt and wither, so I think we’re nearly done for the season, and a couple of the squash became homes for pitchfork bugs (that was a new one on me!).

We’ve had some pumpkins and some spaghetti squash…

And some decent sized butternut squash!

Check out the gorgeous interior of the tiny but ripe butternut! It smelled so sweet and good. We have them cooking right now in broth with onions for some pureed soup.

My proud, small gardeners
