CD giveaway! (CLOSED)

I’m excited to share with you an album of original music, Songs for Friends, by a new band called Physick.

My brother in law and a friend have put together this wonderful album. Their goal was to make excellent music which was unwaveringly Christian. You can give their stuff a listen here to see if they succeeded.

I am giving away a copy of the physical album (value: $10) to THREE randomly selected commenters on this post. The music is currently available for listening at soundcloud, but the physical album has a killer set of liner notes that is NOT available online.

Want a copy for yourself? No problem! Here are the rules:

1. Go to the link with their music, and listen to a song.  Leave a comment telling which song you chose and how you liked it.

2. ADDITIONAL ENTRY by sharing this blog post on facebook or twitter. Leave a second comment saying you did so.

3. ANOTHER ENTRY is possible if you post about this giveaway on your blog. Leave a comment with your blog post url to obtain your additional entry.

With THREE winners, and THREE ways to be included in the draw, odds are good you’ll be a winner, so please comment today!

The entries will be closing on January 7, 2012 and we will announce the winners on January 8.

  1. I loved the sound and the message of “My Wife.” Lovely and solidly standing for something…my kind of band. : )

  2. Jeanine says:

Enjoyed the Sax in “Persecution By CPS”!

  3. Dare says:

I listened to “My Kids.” The musical style is not my personal taste, but it sounded so professional! The words hit right at home. It is so hard to raise kids when my own sins become so obvious in the process. It helps to think that I am in authority over these kids because God has appointed me to it, and not because I somehow merit the position. Good song!

  4. Dare says:

Also I want to say that I love the album cover.

  5. sarah mosley says:

i liked the spooky music box sounding instrument on “death is their shepherd”.

  6. sarah mosley says:

i done shared it on the facebooks

  7. Heather Brown says:

I really like his style. Definitely not mediocre! “My Wife” was so touching. The guitar, swinging drum beat, and the vocalist hitting the notes right on with a nice jazz feel. So sweet.

  8. Karen F. says:

I loved “Songs for Friends”. Sweet! I love all the unusual quirky sounds after listening to several samples. Plus combine that with solid lyrics and it’s something I really enjoy. Ok, as I’m typing this I just heard “Small Beginning” what great harmony!

(Excuse me here I as I totally off topic, please! 🙂 )Sarah, I have to tell you about a Catholic music group I absolutely love. I “discovered” them myself about 12 years ago, and have collected every single album and never tire of them. http://www.theinnocencemission.com I saw them in concert one time, and hope some day they will tour again so I can see them perform again. Have you heard of them?

Ok, I’m still listening, like the slow down of “Lacking Motivation” too. 🙂

  9. Lauren says:

“My Kids” hits close to home. I really liked “My Wife” and “Death is their Shepherd”. The music was refreshing. I really enjoyed it!

  10. Kacy says:

I listened to “Persecuted by CPS,” and I really loved the saxophone part. This was a very moving song, and I think it captured the emotion of the scriptural passage.

  11. hollie says:

I listened to “My Wife”, “My Kids”, “Confused by Love”, and “Songs For Friends”. A bit reminiscent of Ben Folds.

  14. Becky Myers says:

I really like Battling Cancer. It touched on futility and despair, but also evoked powerful hope. Also, the harmonies were neat.

  15. Sharon H. says:

“Death is Their Shepherd” has an excellent beat – I can’t wait to hear the whole song!
“My Wife” track isn’t really my style of music but I appreciate the honest lyrics.
I’m still checking out the rest of the songs…but overall, I LOVE the beat and sound of this group!

Oh Sarah I was so scared with that first song, Death is Their Shepherd… LOL Almost gave up on listening but I like the rest the others especially ‘My Kids’. It made me laugh for is so cute but still brings out the good message. I also enjoyed ‘Songs for Friends’ – enjoyed the musical arrangement.
