Home sweet apartment

Well, we are half moved in. U Haul had overbooked the 24′ truck we reserved so we ended up with a 17′ and couldn’t fit everything. So they are making the second trip now for the other 7′ worth of stuff. In the meantime, I just got the cable internet hooked up so  I’m taking a minute to update you that we are here. It is going to be a long night of unpacking and assembling furniture… On the bright side, we can sleep until almost 10am and still make it in plenty of time for church in the morning! Heh.

Driving away from our house I felt really strange. It was a deep nervous feeling in the pit of my stomach, but also kind of sad. I guess it is not so easy to leave all the memories behind. But, it lasted just about an hour or so and then my natural adaptable state kicked back in. I am generally happy with the apartment. The space seems adequate and we will probably not waste any time making it into our home. I’m really looking forward to using the playground in our community. For the first time the kids might actually get to get out their energy on an almost daily basis.

Speaking of the kids, I guess I better go get them. I have to say THANK YOU to my dear friend Beth who was the only one to come help me pack, and then on top of it all she has kept three of my kids since yesterday afternoon, while her husband helped us load the truck until about midnight last night and then came back again to the apartment today and helped us unload. Other helpers were Dave’s cousin and her boyfriend last night, and the “Crusader Twins” today (who are still with Dave helping him on his 2nd truck trip).
