Nooo!! Not yet!!

Christina has cut her first tooth! And all without fussing, fevering or running. Just a lot of finger biting and a bit of drooling. I can’t believe my baby is already getting teeth. I have never been so sad about this before. I’m really excited, but still sad. And unfortunately, since I found it, I will have to buy the first pair of shoes.

I can’t believe it’s been 4 1/2 months already. The good news is, I only have 1 1/2 months to go before she is six months – and I am rockin’ with the breastfeeding, I can definitely make it another 1 1/2 months exclusively breastfeeding. I am really happy about that. Soren didn’t have any solids until he was about 9 or 10 months old, maybe older (he just wouldn’t take them), but he was on formula by 6 months because I ran out of milk (and was pregnant).

I figured out a way to trick the girls into cleaning. I  “left” a spray bottle of diluted white vinegar under the bathroom sink. They are happily spraying and wiping in their bathroom. And it’s completely non-toxic! Score for mom.

  1. That’s awesome that you’ve done the breastfeeding for so long!  My kids were itching for table food by six months and they both weaned themselves, cold turkey, at nine and ten months.  I was heartbroken (and SORE!!!).  Keep it up!  I’m trying to get caught up on everyone’s posts.  I’m so behind!!!

  2. she’s getting teeth early!!
your tags are great- you have cross referencing xangaing going on here. very impressive.
wouldn’t it be fun if he’s a brown eyed boy? i guess he’s following the third baby breaks the pattern thing like i did. michael thinks that picture i posted of him is hideous but i thought you could see his eyes well in it…
ah you have to meet him and i need to hold christina.

  3. I’m running away!!! haha Paris, France…I wish!Someone else showed it to me. Funny, huh?

I thought it was the person who sees the actual tooth who buys the walking shoes.
I love when the solids stage gets here but then it’s frustrating to teach them how to eat.  Nella took the longest and then she did not want baby food, she would yell for table food.

That’s a great idea about the cleaning – I’ll have to try that with my youngest.  πŸ™‚
Congrats on the first tooth – and doing so well with the breastfeeding.  Sky didn’t have any solids until she was 10 mos. old b/c she didn’t like anything we offered her.  My others started earlier.  Funny thing is, Sky is now my LEAST picky eater.
RYC: I posted directions for Tex-Mex beans.  πŸ™‚

Wow, she is getting her teeth early. You and your over-achieving children πŸ™‚
I’ve breastfed until 13 -15 months with all my babies. And it was really hard to get them to stop even at that point. Maybe you’re milk running out is a blessing in disguise.

hooray, christina! these last few months have just flown…(i think ambrose is just a day or a few hours older than christina…?). good for you with nursing! did you have trouble/not enjoy it with your older girls?

  8. She hasn’t called me back yet so I haven’t been able to tell her! I called twice this morning and got sent around the merry-go-round with them transferring my phone call…finally left two messages. No call back. So I called again right before two, talked to a different nurse who said that the other two times I called I was transferred to the wrong place. So she got my number and paged my midwife (or at least that’s what she said she was going to do). Still no call back. Ugh.

RYC: that’s really cool. would love to hear about your likes/dislikes between Calvinistic parenting styles vs. a more “attachment parenting” style, as it was something we struggled with before and shortly after the baby was born (since we were protestant for the first 6 months of the pregnancy, and planned to schedule, etc. until some dear Catholic friends advised us not to.).
