I am so sick of the comfy yet stylish shoe search that I just went ahead and ordered some $200 shoes.
They are supposed to have excellent arch support. The thing is, all my shoes that I loved are outgrown. I figured out when I was in NY that I have grown a good half size and that is why none of the shoes I have been trying on are comfortable. (Duh.)
I really wanted flats, but none of the flats had arch support. And I need pumps or something I can wear with a dress because I am trying to phase out my pants wearing.
I saw some Taryn Rose shoes that looked perfect, but with a $438 price tag I decided to forego them. (I could get a couple of new Sharper Image air filters for that money! Or a whole new set of bedroom linens!) If you have suggestions on styles or brands feel free to pipe up.
My foot grew a half size with EACH pregnancy. And I thought my feet where big to begin with! If this keeps up, I might have to stop having kids or go for the gold in the Guinesss Book Of World Records.
Wow, I am going to have to kiss your feet next time I see you.You wouldn’t believe the time I just had at the ped’s office. Evelyn screaming because she was making a diaper, and Michael crying and getting his shots simultaneously. And I forgot the stroller, so I had her in the sling and him in his car seat, plus a purse and diaper bag…and it’s a billion degrees out…eep!
What site were those shoes on? I need arch support…I wish I had arches to begin with.
They are from zappos.com. I wish they had a search feature for “excellent arch support” but I couldn’t find one – just had to search through the styles I liked. But the first shoes in my post are called oh! shoes and they are supposedly a breakthrough in fashion and orthopedics. Aww, sorry you had such a nightmarish time at the dr’s. Some days the kids are angels and you think “This multiple kid thing is a breeze,” and other times you are forced to be a lot more realistic. But just think how easy it will be in 10 years.
I had no idea feet grew with pregnancy. Hm. That’s not good!
Are you not wearing pants at all anymore? Do you find skirts more comfortable?
I find that birkenstocks are the most comfortable shoes while pregnant, and after. A little pricy, but worth it. They mostly come in slip-on styles so you don’t have to lace shoes when you can’t even see your feet. http://www.birkenstockexpress.com
Ah…don’t you just love what pregnancy does to your feet, lol! Gone are my Timberlands and Doc Martens that I loved all through grad. school. 7 years and 3 kids later I still haven’t replaced them. Boohoo! Glad you’re back, btw!
nothing like like a little foot spurge — I have never had an affection for shoes, but I am nonetheless happy for you in that your feet will be loving you soon! =)
i’ve been searching for a classic pump. let us know how much you love them 🙂
